Brooke Ashley

Ashley Brook is a writer, published artist, and environmental activist. Ashley Brook was a Disc Jockey for three years for WCPM located in Cumberland, KY. She is now working as an Usher at the EKU Center for the Performing Arts which is the second largest venue in the state of Kentucky, and will be one of the sites for the 2012 Presidential Debates.

Ashley Brook was born and raised in the heart of coal country, and despite the industry being one of the largest employers, she is completely opposed to it. She has witnessed first hand the devastion that occurs from mining coal. Sections of the beautiful appalachain mountains are now bare pieces of rock, and ponds and lakes are turning into acid dumps. Ashley Brook is a huge supporter of clean energy, and believes that the future of the economy and of man depend on clean energy and global change.

Ashley Brook is currently working on her BA in English and Creative Writing, and was recently published in EKU's Aurora Literary Arts Journal. In her spare time, she enjoys reading biographies and researching many diverse topics. She has a huge fascination with the unknown.
